Three CARICOM countries stood firm against colonialism in a show of solidarity. Representatives from Belize, the Bahamas, and Jamaica held a joint press conference in response to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s recent Charm Offensive tour.
Following statements made by Prince William during his visit, the Advocates Network has strengthened their resolve to push Government for establishing a Republic Jamaica. The group rejected his statements as unacceptable and labelled his response ‘tone-deaf’.
No matter how loud the protests get, they must never be dismissed. Today, the voices joined together to show that there is strength in numbers. Abolishing the connection of England’s monarchy to Jamaica, according to some, is a need, as Jamaica must fend for herself.
