The JCDC’s mission has always been to promote Jamaica internationally. The Performing Arts Competitions they’ve established help them fulfil that duty every year by showcasing the talents of both aspiring artists and seasoned pros to the people of Jamaica.
As a result of the holding of the Jamaica Gospel Stars Competition, Jamaica is going to feel the rush of excitement once again. The tournament, which will take place on July 10, promises to be a tough one, all in the name of the Lord. All the same, there can be only one victor in this competition. Amen.
The Best School Band Competition in Jamaica inspired the next generation of musicians. The battle was fierce, and each school brought their ‘A-Game’ and left everything on the stage.
Kingston Creative’s Paint the City initiative has received a boost. They will keep beautifying the city until at least August 2022. It’s an exciting time to wander around downtown Kingston and see how the murals improve the environment.
We leave a lasting legacy when we devote ourselves to helping others and making sure they are well taken care of. Denroy Morgan’s legacy will be passed down through the generations. As a source of comfort, his music will live on in our memories.
There are many elements to Dancehall music and the clash of sound systems is one that bring vibes and fun to its patrons. These clashes began in the late 1950’s and is today the platform used by the best of the best DJs in all of Dancehall.
Diamonds on the Rock, presented by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association, and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment, and Sport, was a lovely event. We were able to sit back and relax in ecstasy because to the excellent music and the host’s humor.
The Dancehall sound clash is the boxing match of all sound systems who want to build, and keep popular. If you can’t manage it, just call yourself a disc jockey. If you can, well, you now have bragging rights. Reggae Month has one of the biggest Sound Clashes.
Bob Marley’s birthday party, Roots 77, was streamed live for the whole world to see. Spectators were treated to performances from three distinct studios.
