Several buildings have been given a significant ‘Spirit of Independence’ across the United States, Canada and Jamaica in black, gold and green. These special decorations are to honour the 60th-anniversary celebrations of Jamaica’s independence.
The Namibian delegation which is currently in Jamaica to celebrate the nation’s 60th anniversary of independence. The delegation, which is now representing the President of the Republic of Namibia, who was originally expected to be in Jamaica, is headed by the Honourable Christine Hoebes, Minister in the Presidency of Namibia.
On August 6, 1962, Jamaica gained political independence from Britain after more than 300 years of British colonial rule. Our history is built on the hardship and courage of our ancestors. We will continually stand tall on this great legacy. Happy 59th Anniversary on Jamaica’s Independence.
