Scotiabank has again committed support to the Bustamante Children’s Hospital through sponsorship of the upcoming Shaggy and Friends concert. Since the concert’s inception, the bank has ‘Dared to Care’, donating more than $30-million in funds, and volunteer hours to the cause.
At this year’s sixth staging of the event, Scotiabank has again demonstrated its commitment to improving health facilities for children with unwavering support of the show.
“No one entity could make the kind of investment required to improve the Bustamante Children’s Hospital, so a partnership like this is ideal, and we love the experience that surrounds the Shaggy and Friends execution. That makes it so much more dynamic” said Yanique Forbes Patrick, vice-president of marketing at Scotiabank.
As part of the bank’s execution at the concert this year, persons unable to attend are invited to ‘make a difference’ to the health care of children by contributing to the BNS Fundraiser – Shaggy Make a Difference account, at Scotiabank Centre, account number 907355.
Also, top digital ‘superstars’, who have utilised the Scotia Online and mobile platforms to conduct transactions, will be gifted with tickets to attend the event.
Scotia volunteers will also be on hand to welcome and guide guests in attendance at the concert. The volunteers have always been an integral part of the execution on the night of the show, offering their services as part of the Scotiabank contribution. They also played a role in the wrapping of hundreds of Christmas gifts for presentation to patients at the Bustamante Children’s Hospital.
Scotiabank has always paid attention to the fulsome development of youth through programmes focusing on education, sports, health and environment.
For some time now, the bank has been involved with the Bustamante hospital on numerous improvement projects, including the creation of a soothing green area for patients and parents; contributions to heart surgeries; the expansion or a homework resource centre; and most recently, a partnership with Sick Kids International that facilitated the establishment of a telemedicine centre to enable diagnostic discussion with experts overseas, on ailments affecting children.
