This past Friday, Ziggy received the 2017 George and Ira Gershwin Award for Lifetime Musical Achievement at UCLA’s Spring Sing. Held at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, the Student Alumni Association and UCLA Alumni Association named Marley this year’s recipient, making Ziggy the first reggae artist to receive this award in its 29-year history.

This award was established in 1988 and since then, some of the recipients have included: Pete Townshend & Roger Daltrey of The Who, Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, to name a few.
